I still wanted a quick picture of the
Sailie either on my lap, or at least
a bit out the water. I gripped him
by the bill and attempted a quick
lift. This was a heavy fish, and it
still was very green. It went mental
as I grabbed it. My intention was
to either remove the hook out the
corner of its scissors or cut the
line right next to it. However, after
three (or was it four) moments of
crossing swords with this frisky
Zorro on steroids, I cut the line
half way down the leader. It was
not ideal but considering the circumstances was best I could do. I watched it
swim off slowly and the elation kicked in. What an end to an epic weekend!
