ALBERT FALLS BASS CLASSIC While the rest of us shivered in our boots this past weekend, 350 determined Bass anglers (in 151 boats) simply shrugged off icy winds, electric storms and torrential rains - and turned Albert Falls Dam into a “hotspot” of fishing. Fuelled by their passion for bass fishing, courageous competitors ignored the warnings of ominous conditions, and “poured in” for the briefing of the popular Albert Falls Bass Classic 2018. Of course, R400 000 worth of prizes had something to do with it, including a fully-kitted, Yamaha-powered Crackleback Bass boat on trailer, worth a cool R260 000 on its own! Team Lowrance was there in full force this year. Lowrance has always been proud sponsors of the Albert Falls Classic (both through our SABAA sponsorship and also by partly sponsoring the 2nd prize), but this year Lowrance staff were at Albert Falls Dam for the whole weekend – providing technical back-up and assistance to Lowrance-users. Lowrance was definitely the electronics brand of choice; at least 90% of the competing boats had Lowrance units installed. We were very happy to provide our loyal supporters with assistance when needed. John, Mikala and Steph manned our mobile Lowrance stand, giving anglers tips and updates on the latest range of units on display. John Minnie (our technical manager) also offered to meet Lowrance- users at their boats to give them training on their specific Lowrance model.
