The Lowrance Point-1 is an ideal position and heading device. Point-1 is a very
powerful external antenna… it updates 10 times per second, and it includes
an internal compass. Point-1 provides for rapid and extremely accurate boat
position and speed updates. In addition, unlike other position-only antennas;
the Point-1 provides heading for accurate boat direction at any speed and also
for radar/chart overlay.
All GPS-enabled Lowrance units include a built-in antenna, but the Point-1
will provide you with more pinpoint accuracy. And because it has a built-in
compass, your heading will be more accurate. It will be much easier to find
offshore structure when using the heading extension. If installed close to your
transducer, it will give you more accurate waypoints. It has a compact and
rugged design- making it ideal for all marine environments.
The Point-1 communicates data via the NMEA network and therefore requires an
NMEA starter kit. BUT… if you purchase your Point-1 antenna during the months
of June, July or August , you will receive your NMEA starter kit FOR FREE!
