CAMPING & BOATING
This month we focus on our dealer in Benoni: Camping and Boating Centre. The company
was started in 1962 by Kallie and Bettie Krause. Amazingly, Bettie (87) still works from
8am to 12noon every day and according to grandson and sales consultant Clayton – is as
“bright as a button”!
This family-run business is one of the oldest marine dealerships in the country and over
the years has become known as a true “One-Stop” marine shop backed by the
biggest brands!
Carl Krause, a former barefooter, ski-racer and mad-keen fisherman, headed this busy
concern for many years and still oversees day-to-day activities along with his son,
Clayton - who is also involved in the fishing and technical side. Carl’s sister Zelda, takes
care of all the admin and brother-in-law Darius runs the workshop.
