Congratulations to Ryan Driemeyer,
(see cover pic) winner of this year’s
Durban Skiboat Festival, with a Couta
of 26,9kg – caught off a Lowrance-
equipped boat!!
He hooked the Big Prize a Yamaha-powered
SeaCat skiboat on trailer, Lowrance Link 6
VHF radio and antenna, One Year insurance
from Club Marine, and other prizes -
totalling R425 000.
It was a nerve wracking wait for him until
the big announcement - as Ryan caught this
fish at 9am on the first day, around the
Umdloti River mouth. He made full use of
the Lowrance HDS 7 unit fitted on his
brother (and skipper) Justin’s Benguela
boat - “All In” - to find this winner!
He had every reason to be anxious as there
were 693 anglers (on 237 boats) fishing to
overtake him, but in the end it was Ryan’s
day and he went home a very happy man!
