MOSSEL BAY KOB DERBY (Dec 23rd 2017) 160 Anglers took advantage of the good weather over the holiday break – as they descended on Mossel Bay to fish in the 22nd Kob Derby. Everyone was pumped to catch the heaviest Kob and the lion’s share of the R100 000 in cash prizes. It was a race against me (5am start and lines up at 2pm), as they sped off for the best fishing spots between Gouritz to Wilderness. The weather and water temperature rose and the fish went to ground, so local anglers had the advantage of knowing where to find their hiding spots.
