t - he UKFC Kayak competition has just finished.The comp was organised by the Umgeni Kayak Fishing Club and owrance was very happy to be involved, along with our dealer - Stealth Kayaks. Briefing was held at the new Umhlanga Ski Boat club on Friday May 5th. total of 183 kayaks entered. It definitely is a popular comp... and they expect even more entries next year. Com- petitors fished in perfect conditions on Saturday- final weigh-in was at 4pm. Second place went to arryl Bartho - a owrance brand ambassador- with a tuna of 27.9kg. arryl won a Stealth Kayak. Third place went to Richard angford - with a atal Snoek of 8.05kg. Richard won a owrance Hook 4 unit. They were again greeted with lovely weather on Sunday morning- with final weigh-in at 12pm. Many great fish were caught, including some seri- ously impressive couta. It was a species comp, so the biggest fish of each caught species took the top three spots. The winner was Scott Hunter with a massive couta of 30.8kg. Scott won R50 Well done guys! It's been a really good comp. Kayak fishing is definitely becoming more popular.
