SO WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THE NEW LOWRANCE HALO24?
The new HALO24 radar offers a hybrid between traditional pulse radar and CHIRP
pulse compression technology. HALO uses solid-state electronics to produce
low-power pulsed frequency-swept transmissions (the radar equivalent of CHIRP
sonar), delivering excellent range and target resolution with minimal warm-up
time, long life, and low emissions. HALO uses five different chirps to put maximum
energy on target at any given range. Each chirp covers a sub-range of the full radar
range. Therefore HALO not only improves resolution, but also target detection.
One of the most exciting thing about the new
HALO24 is that it has a 60RPM up to two
nautical miles. AND HALO is the first in its
industry to do this. It means that the antenna
rotates once every single second, updating
data literally ALL THE TIME! These ultra-
fast updates give you an almost real- time
view at close range, offering the ultimate
view for collision avoidance. Whether you’re
navigating through crowded waterways or
contending with poor visibility, Halo radar
cuts through the clutter to give you a clear
and current picture of your surroundings.
