UPCOMING EVENTS
The 2019 Couta Fishing Festival is fast approaching. Usually known as the Durban Skiboat
Festival, this year the competition will be called the BUNDU BESTER MEMORIAL FESTIVAL
- in memory of Bundu Bester who died last month.
Every sponsor and angler who’s taken part in this event over the last decade and even
longer, will remember the familiar sight of “Bundu” overseeing the weigh-in.
This year’s competition is being held over the Easter
Weekend and apart from the fishing, one of the main
focuses will be entertainment - from Friday 19th
through to Monday 22nd April. There will be a lot
for children and adults to enjoy—-surf ski races in the
harbour entrance, helicopter rescues by the NSRI,
cooking demos, jungle gyms etc.
Although the competition days are Saturday
20th and Sunday 21st, Monday 22nd has been
set aside as a fishing day in the event a blow out
on either of the two other days.
