Christmas is coming and we want to look and feel our best! As the season starts, let’s get down to some basics to Red Carpet skin!

First, what is your type of skin? This is the most important thing to know! Have you had it analysed lately? Does it can change with the seasons? Dry lacks oil, dehydrated lacks water, oily cannot have dry skin but it can be dehydrated and normal is the holy grail! Now, how are your fundamentals?? Be honest!!

Here is a guide to what should be in your daily regime:

CLEANSING

You think you know how to do, but it easy to over do it or buy the wrong products. If your cleanser leaves your skin tight and taught and in need of moisture – its wrong for you.

Tips:

1. Clean hands before you start.

2. Double cleanse, it sounds time consuming

but the first wash cleans your makeup off

and the second cleans your face!

3. Rubba Dub Dub! Massage the product well.

This boosts blood flow and brings nutrients

to the face, this works wonders for tired faces

and helps wrinkles to be lessened.

4. Only use cleansing wipes when in a pinch.

Long term use is not good for the skin and

doesn’t “clean” the skin.

5. The type of cleanser you pick is down to you.

AHA cleansers like Dr, Murad or Dermalogica ‘s

Triactive Cleanser are brilliant brighteners in

the dark winter months! To nourish dry skin

Kinvara's Oil Cleanser is a winner, it nourishes,

hydrates and best of all is 100% Irish!

6. Do rinse with a cloth. Use a warm wash cloth

to remove your cleanser, it has been proven to

remove both surface grime and products more

effectively. Try it for a week, trust me you will

see such a difference to your skin!!

TONERS

You don’t need a toner. Yes you read correctly.

Skincare companies market toners but many in the skincare business disagree. It is especially true if you have oily, greasy or problematic skin. Many toners can be alcohol based, leaving skin drier and creating more problems. However I do love toners as hydrators for skin throughout the day. Spritz to rehydrate and set your makeup, this is also great for when you are about to go to a party straight from the office!
