With over 20 years in the beverage industry,
Laurie is your go-to for the latest trends in the
craft beer, wine, and spirits industry. She is a
columnist for the Union-Tribune's DiscoverSD,
writing weekly on a variety of beverage topics,
including her popular Interview with a
Brewmaster feature and In the Mix cocktail
column.
She also writes for Edible Magazine, Modern
Luxury, The Equipped Brewer, Pacific, and
Chilled in New York.
She became known in San Diego for her
ambitious charity-driven project 100 beers. 30
days., in which she tasted 100 beers of a style in a
month. Projects included 100 barrel-aged beers,
100 Belgian and Belgian-style beers, 100
American Craft Breweries, and 100 stouts and
porters. She has tasted and reviewed well over
1000 beers in her years as a writer and craft beer
advocate. Beneficiaries of the projects included
local food banks, Feeding America, All About
the Kids Foundation, and the Michael J. Fox
Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
She has been featured for her expertise on the
covers of DiscoverSD, Westcoaster, and Happy
Hour magazines, and in the pages of San Diego
Magazine, Draft, Locale, Modern Luxury, Beer
West, Times-Picayune, Wordpress, and more.
She starred in three web series Beer Minute,
Drink of the Week (a DIY cocktail series), and
Laurie's Beer World. She is currently working
on a book with renowned beer expert, "Dr." Bill
