GLMSA President
[email protected]
I
t is hard to believe that my term as President of GLMSA is so
quickly drawing to an end. I would like to take time to reflect
a bit on what we have accomplished as an Alliance during this
year. I would like to thank all of the men and women on the GLMSA
board and committees as well as everyone who helped me this year.
I would especially like to thank Jenny Jacob for her friendship, and
dedication and commitment to the Alliance. Jenny chaired the
membership committee and made a tremendous contribution to
our success this year.

Upcoming Events
All Alliance events can be found at
www.glms.org in the Alliance tab at
under Membership.
•
I had an article published in the AMAA Magazine on the
cultural shift and how it is affecting GLMSA.
•
We revised the by-laws, membership process and form, and
added a permanent email to our growing online presence and
network of social media.
•
We moved our grant applications to our online webpage, and
will be giving out seven grants this year, over three times what
we did last year.
•
We had a 44 percent increase in paid membership this year.
•
•
We honored several members for their accomplishments over
their decades of service to the Alliance:
We raised over $2500 for the various charities at our outreaches
and volunteered many hours.
•
We had the AMA Alliance visit our city and bring with them
Alliance members from many states.
•
But most important: we fulfilled our mission of caring about
our fellow men, women, and family members in our medical
community and reaching out widely to incorporate those who
had not been a member before.

We had the first for GLMSA and the first in the nation Men’s
Activities Committee, which hosted three events for Men in
the Alliance.
It has been a great year blessed with many accomplishments and
milestones and I have been honored to be the GLMSA President.
Thank you for this opportunity. LM
