UK Issue #4 Super model Ulorin Vex Rdot Floyd photo Lora Lynn Makeup artist Art Director Darcell Carraway I ranked this issue as number one for many reasons. The fashion editorials were like never before which I really could see a future in and the potential for top position. Everything before this issue was development and hands on experience. And to top it off, this is our best seller. 2. Beauty and the Beast Issue #1 Model Bobbi Dean Rdot Floyd photo Makeup artist Angelique Trejo Art Director Darcell Carraway This is the first and most instrumental magazine I reflect on. It was my blueprint that has carried me to where I am today. I made tons of mistakes: font choices, font sizing, grammar and the list goes on. This is ranked so high because of the many lessons I learned creating this book. While it was only 32 pages, it definitely helped to get that first print in my hand, and understand the mistakes I made. This allowed me to rectify those mistakes in subsequent issues. 3. Makeup Extravaganza #7 For makeup geeks worldwide Los Angeles Firm Makeup Artist of the year 2014 Bernice Mansfield (Australia) Photographer Ed Purnomo Australian Super Model Brooke Hogan It’s not common that makeup artists tell their story. Therefore in this issue, I saw a great opportunity to take advantage of that by bringing together makeup blogging, products artist and everything I could possibly gather from the makeup communities worldwide. Everyone had fun with this issue as it was the first ever to do such of an issue. Before Makeup Extravaganza there was not one magazine that had ever attempted doing an all makeup based book as the theme. I believe this issue to be the most successful because of the doors it opened for a lot of people in the makeup industry, professionals and beginners alike. 4. Makeup Extravaganza, Part Two #8 Makeup artist Mykie of Glam and Gore Photo credit Mykie Art director Mykie But of course, I did it back-to-back again, I had too. It was amazing how much exposure the first one got, and it just seemed like we were the only magazine that could pull this off. So, I ran it again. Part two, was much like the first Makeup Extravaganza lots of quality products. Companies like Miss Mascara have been a hit in the makeup titled issues. Look for Makeup Extravaganza, Part Three this summer... For makeup geeks worldwide. 5. The Lost Stones, Issue #5 Jewelry designer Marius Ambre Makeup artist Mercedes Hayward Photographer Caron Westbrook Model Kamila Nowak I really loved what this magazine did for us and others. The Lost Stones opened doors for us to run with the makeup geek themes. There was a variety of talent in the Jewelry designer community yet not enough to keep flooding the market with. Yet, it has to be recognized as one of my personal all time favorite projects. I met a lot of great people and created long lasting networks for myself and others. I’m sure we’ll do another one of them in 2016. Until then, keep an eye open.
