MAKEUP EXTRVAGANZA interview with CATHRINE ASANOV How important is it to focus on the details of a single images to produce quality material? A ​ bsolutely vital! From every strand of hair to every little micro-movement. ​ What made you want to become a photographer? The magic of the darkroom. It was like alchemy to me. I’ve always been inspired by chemistry and fell in love with the organic chemistry of art and photography.​ What do you focus on mostly? Definitely fashion and beauty photography. But it still might not be that obvious yet, because, as I’ve mentioned, until two years ago photography was still some media with which I’ve experimented with all different genres, until I realised in the end that I’m definitely leaning towards fashion photography. With it I grew affection towards post-production so I’ve concentrated on that also… I believe it has something to do with beautifying all those people in the newspaper when I was a kid.
