as just friends in their collab video. Then came THAT ATTACK OF THE IMMATURE PHANDOM MEMBERS. People started attacking Hazel online for calling Phil "babe", saying things such as "Only Dan can call him babe, you b*tch!", or "HE'S MINE.", forgetting that any of these Youtubers have feelings and that they're real life people, and that Phan isn't even canon romantically(only bromance). Hazel finally tweeted "Note to self: Never refer to AmazingPhil as "babe" again". And still for immature Phandom members kept attacked her saying things like "You're lucky Dan didn't come to attack you!" That could destroy friendships, but no, they did not have that in mind. Anyways, it came to mind of the more Phandom members that
a) WE HAVE TO STOP FORCING PHAN ON DAN AND PHIL AND OTHER YOUTUBERS. SHIPPING SHOULD ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS STAY WITHIN THE FANDOM.
b) Spamming all videos with "PROTIP" is immature. It was funny at first, but two weeks after? Come on. It's immature and stupid, and just thoughtless to the fact that this spam covers up the thoughtful, constructive comments that Youtubers look for.
c) WE NEED TO STOP RPING AS DAN AND PHIL. ALMOST ALWAYS IT'S SMUT, AND THAT IS NOT RIGHT. THEY ARE REAL LIFE PEOPLE WITH FEELINGS AND THEIR OWN LIVES. THIS IS IDENTITY THEFT!
d) WE NEED TO STOP FORCING OUR DISGUSTING, DISTURBING PHANFICTIONS ONTO DAN AND PHIL UNLESS THEY WANT TO. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF SOMEONE FORCED YOU TO READ ABOUT YOURSELF GETTING RAPED AND TORTURED BY YOUR BEST FRIEND?!
and finally,
e) Smut drawings should also be toned down. Many people in the Phandom are thirteen years old and younger, and we older members should keep that in mind.
Conclusion: It is not a certain age group's fault this happened. This is all of our faults. For not being able to contain the immature side of the fandom, and for not being able to know when to stop. We need to think of how all of these people, at the end of the day, are just fellow human beings, just like us, with feelings and personal lives, no matter how pixelated they look on the screen. We all need to tone down the shipping and smut and jokes. All of this should stay within the Phandom, and only the Phandom, unless it's small things. We have been heartless and selfish, and we need to change.
