The Cat: A Destiel Fanfiction

The Impala screeched to a stop in the middle of the road. From afar, it would only seem like the stopping was random, but closer, one could see a tiny cardboard box, just in front of the car. Two more seconds and it would've been crushed. Dean Winchester got out of his car and stared down at the tiny box. In it, there was a tiny, mewling, kitten. Unnerved, Dean picked it up and put it, box and all, in the passenger seat. He continued, but with a faster pace, back home.

As soon as he had walked in, Castiel moved to him. "Dean, what are you carrying?"

"A cat," Dean replied, looking for Sam, who had some experience with animals. Unfortunately enough, Sam was off somewhere else.

"What use is this... cat?" Castiel asked, while Dean set down the box on the ground. The kitten immediately got out of the box and started walking towards Castiel, who jumped and moved even closer to Dean.

"Dean, I fear the animal you have brought home has some evil intentions."

Even though he wouldn't say it, Dean was also pretty scared of the tiny, bumbling, piece of fur. Instinctively, he reached for Castiel's hand. They stayed there, frozen, watching the gray and orange kitten dart around, sniffing and pawing almost everything. Finally, when everything was sniffed, the kitten turned to them and meowed.

Castiel jumped again. The kitten meowed again. Dean remembered something about milk. Sam had mentioned milk somewhere. Sneaking away to the kitchen, he poured a little milk is a small cup and brought it back. When he walked it, Cas stared at him helplessly while the kitten pressed itself against his legs. Dean quickly set down the cup and resumed his earlier position next to Castiel.

The kitten started lapping at the milk, not looking very evil anymore. Dean relaxed and turn to Cas.

"We should name it, I think." he said.

"Yes. What do humans usually call these things?"

"I don't know. Fluffy, I guess."

"How about the Lord and Savior?"

"No. Maybe Bobby."

"I like that."

The door opened, and in walked Sam, arms full of groceries and other important stuff, like lamb blood.

"What the- Dean?"

"It was on the road. I don't know."

"This being is quite helpless," Castiel chimed in.

Sam raised his eyebrows. "Well if you two like it so much, then you can take care of it."

They looked at each other.

"Okay," Dean said.

"Okay."

That's when the milk spilled over.
