Everyone has known classic couples. Ones that seem like they will never end. But if you are a comic book reader, you know that is wrong.

Anyone who is aware of the Classic Couple of Clark Kent and Lois Lane should know that it is over. Superman is now currently dating Wonder Woman. This new pairing angered a lot of people but it grew on them. They are now one of DC's power couples. That is because DC wrote them well, as for other characters........not so much.

Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon were a very classic comic book couple. Many people loved how well written it was. But then it turned to mush at the time of the New 52. When Dick was unmasked by the Crime Syndicate, and was forced to fake his death, Barbara kept him happy while he worked for an undercover mission. She was his light. But Barbara thought he was dead. Very little time afterwards. A new writer for comic books made Barbara Gordon flirt with Jason Todd, Dick Grayson's legal brother. This actually caused little backlash. I myself, hate it. I believe it betrays Dick. But many people started to hate Dick. They thought he was a bad person all of a sudden.

But then, Dick revealed he was alive. He talked to Barbara very recently, but the writers took a new turn. He wasn't the same when he talked to her, they tried to make him despicable to boost another new love interest for Barbara. Which I personally think is not okay.

Another popular couple was Batman and Catwoman. They recently broke up, to inherit her family's legacy, Catwoman became a mob boss. To restore order to the crime organization. But she had to end things with Batman. These two were a classic couple, but Batman now has a new person wearing the batsuit because Bruce Wayne has amnesia due to an attack. It is safe to say that they will not be together for a long time.

A recurring pattern here is that it is either written well, or not. Ever since the reboot, Clark and Lois were never together. Sometimes a new love interest is good for a character, but sometimes it works out catastrophically and it constantly puts down characters in favor of other characters. Like The Dick and Barbara relationship. But in my opinion, couples can either always burn bright forever, or die quickly depending on if it is a good match.
