He cautiously led him to Central Park, and within fifteen minutes they arrived. Alec slowed and stopped.

He said nervously, “Okay, we're here.”

Magnus slowly opened his eyes. As he took in the scene around him his eyes widened. “Oh, Alec!” He breathed. “It's perfect! Ugh, I sound like such a girl.”

Alec smiles and the tealight candles spread around the table sparkle in his baby-blue eyes. He gestured to the table and said, “Now all we have to do is hope that the faeries will leave us alone.”

“Oh, the queen is all bark. Let's just enjoy this gorgeous dinner and be thankful you've lasted almost two months without me killing you,” Magnus said, with a casual wave.

“I notice your glitter pants have hearts on them today,” Alec said, with a devious smirk on his face.

Magnus leaned in and whispered something in his ear.

“Now, now, let's spare the readers from the sappy stuff,” Alec said.

Magnus sighed, saying, “Oh, I suppose you're right, honey. That can wait.”

Alec looked at Magnus dubiously, “Honey?”

“What? I was just trying something new. Would you rather I whisper sweet nothings in your ear?”

Alec’s eyes shone. “Just enjoy the night, sweetheart.”
