CCEJ Presents

Gene Lentzner

Human Relations Awards

On Thursday, October 15, the California Conference for Equality and Justice (CCEJ) recognized this year's recipients of the Gene Lentzner Human Relations Award. The reception and program were held at the Law Offices of Keesal, Young and Logan.

This year's honorees were Bill Cruickshank, Executive Director of Meals on Wheels Long Beach, Jessica Quintana, Executive Director/President of Centro C.H.A., and Matthew A. Saldana, a Principal in the Long Beach Unified School District.

The annual award is named for Gene Lentzner in honor of his extraordinary, life-long commitment to bringing diverse people together to improve human relations in the greater Long Beach area. Mr. Lentzner also served as the evening's Keynote Speaker.

CCEJ’s Community Partner, the City of Long Beach Human Dignity Program, also presented the 2015 Human Dignity Award to the Long Beach Human Trafficking Task Force.

CCEJ has made a long-term commitment to community efforts that promote understanding and respect among all races, religions, and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution and education. They first raise awareness and then educate and empower our community leaders so that they may become agents of change in transforming our society.
