THINGS I LOVE
BY TRAVIS WEAVER
OWNER, MANREADY
MERCANTILE
Manready Mercantile owner Travis Weaver is a small-town guy, originally from Zephyr, Texas.
Manready is a small business built on values, honesty and hard work. “That's just how we
do things. You combine these traits together and you can‘t help but to get quality service and
products. The goal is to create jobs, help other makers and support USA-made goods,” he says.
This month’s guest editor shares his favorites below.
When it comes to food, I love to eat. I’m a big Texas boy
after all. I mix it up with COLTIVARE, SOUTHERN GOODS,
PINKERTON’S BBQ and STAR FISH. They’re all locally owned
and run and that’s what I want in a business. I don’t go to any
of the mainstream joints as there’s simply no comparison when it
comes to service and attention. I work hard for my money and my
time and when I go out, I wanna make it count.
I pretty much only listen to country music, mainly the older stuff like
GEORGE JONES AND JOHNNY CASH. It all relaxes me and brings me
to a simpler time and place. Plus it’s good beer drinkin’ music.
WORKHORSE PRINTMAKERS is one of the coolest and most creative
companies in town and will crush it when it comes to making the most
amazing cards and stationery in Houston. They use vintage printing
presses and are masters of design.
