BLUE TILE PROJECT

Nine months ago JOEY SANCHEZ created the www.BlueTileProject.com to
catalogue all remaining blue tile street signs in the city. The beautiful
blue tiled letters lined Houston-area streets as early as the 1930s and
have slowly been removed. Many of them have found their resting
ground at the parking lot of Spring Street Studios. Sanchez hopes to
bring awareness to the street tiles and preserving the uniquely local
signs. If you see one, snap a picture and use the hashtag
#WordOnTheStreet #StreetArt and #Houston. Visit the
