HOUSTON'S ART CAR WEEKEND DRIVES THE COMMUNITY
This past April saw the staging of the 31st Annual Houston Art Car Weekend, powered by The Orange
Show Center for Visionary Art. The four-day celebration of The Drive to Create was chaired by Bevin &
Dan Dubrowski, with support from Orange Show Board Chairs Don Mafrige, Jr., Tracy Levit Larner, Marilyn
Oshman and Karen Desenberg. The parade itself featured more than 250 rolling works of art that took to
Houston's streets, in front of tens of thousands of art lovers, car lovers and everyone in between. Houston's
fickle weather held out for all of the events, culminating with a break in the clouds and sunny skies right
as the parade started on Saturday afternoon. Over $15,000 in prize money was awarded to entries in
various categories by a panel of notable judges.
