ON OUR RADAR ON OUR RADAR ASTROS FOUNDATION CLOUD FORMATION FM Kitchen and Bar presented the unveiling of “The Altuve That Could” mural by local artist Donkeeboy with an evening celebration featuring art, music and a raffle and silent auction benefiting the Astros Foundation. More than 250 guests crowded FM Kitchen and Bar’s spacious patio for the final unveiling of the mural, which Donkeeboy began painting on a wall on FM’s patio on April 2 in honor of Opening Day at Minute Maid Park. He put the finishing touches on the mural on Wednesday, including a sketch of Altuve’s face on the front of the train along with other final details. www.fmkitcheandbar.com The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, has completed the installation of Anish Kapoor’s monumental sculpture, Cloud Column, on the site of the Museum’s new Steven Holl-designed Glassell School of Art and its plaza by Deborah Nevins & Associates. Conceived in the late 1990s and realized in 2006, it is a singular work within a decades-long engagement with what the artist has called “defining space.” The oblong form’s concave “front” faces the Glassell School of Art, inverting its structure, its surroundings and the viewer in its reflection. You may have seen a similar sculpture in Chicago, but we’re not getting into that debate. Plan your visit at www.mfah.org.
