SCENE EVENT: MEMORIAL PARK CONSERVANCY’S PICNIC FOR THE PARK FOOD | ARTS | COMMUNITY | STYLE+LEISURE EVENT: CLUB 31 WINTER BALL WHERE: THE FOREST CLUB WHERE: HILTON AMERICAS Nearly 400 guests gathered at a Forest Club that was decked out in French coun- try decor to celebrate the two year anniversary of Memorial Park Conservancy’s management of Memorial Park in conjunction with Houston Parks and Recreation. The event featured the development of the Master Plan, an ongoing project project in the park’s eastern glades. The event was emceed by ABC 13’s award-winning former evening anchor Linda Lorelle. Guests were treated to food that included cheese and charcuterie, BBQ brisket, fried shrimp and decadent sides, all packed in charming wicker picnic baskets. After dinner, guests danced to music spun by DJ Damon Pampolina. The event raised more than $375,000 for the conservancy. Over 500 guests gathered at the Hilton Americas for Club 31 2018 Winter Ball. The Winter Ball was a culmination of ABC13’s Women of Distinction presenting the class of 2018. The evening raised over $600,000 benefiting the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. The Winter Ball honors 11 Women of Distinction as well as over 50 ladies who were former Women of Distinction from the past 30 years. There was an auction, an opening performance by Andy Dimino, a look-alike Dean Martin singer, and music that kept everyone on the dance floor by David Caceres Band. The crowd’s attention lasted late into the night as they anticipat- ed the reveal of whose Lucky Key would open the Diamond Treasure Box of a $15,000 gift certificate to Tenenbaum and Co.
