BODY WORLDS RX showcases a spectacular journey into the human body for the first time in Houston. Dr. Melanie Johnson welcomed Dr. Angelina Whalley, Creative and Conceptual Designer of the exhibit who flew in from Germany for the opening. An eye-popping performance of body art was presented by ABC Body Art before VIP guests toured the exhibition for the first time. The public is invited to tour the exhibition to experience an up-close look at how the body responds to common diseases like diabetes, back pain, skin cancer, colon cancer, heart disease, lung disease and eating disorders, among others. Created by Dr. Gunther von Hagens, inventor of Plastination science and creator of the BODY WORLDS exhibitions, the exhibit features Plastination, a complex technique that removes the fluids from the body and replaces them with plastics that harden. The exhibition is included in a one-day general admission ticket. For tickets and hours, visit www.thehealthmuseum.org. Photography by Alexander's Fine Portraits Melanie Johnson, Ed.
