EVENT: MUTTS, MEOWS & MCCULLERS PRESENTED BY HOUSTON PETS ALIVE!

Houston Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. and his wife Kara lent their names
to a Meet and Greet benefiting Houston Pets Alive! The nonprofit organization is dedicated to helping Houston become no-kill, saving the lives of 382
pets locally. Lance shared, “As soon as my wife and I learned about the mission of Houston Pets Alive! we couldn’t wait to get involved. It’s an honor for
us to be here today to help raise awareness for such an important cause and
to help find these pets homes.” There were adoptable pets on hand from various shelters as well as a silent auction, food trucks and more.

EVENT: DENALI FOUNDATION GALA

Over 260 guests attended the gala
which raised $60,000 ($7,000
will be directed towards the nonprofit’s efforts to build a school in
Nepal). The Denali Foundation
was founded following the death
of artist and adventurer Denali
Schmidt. The foundation raises
monies to send art supplies to children and schools where art programs have been discontinued or
are nonexistent. Leslie Wall Hassen
chaired the event which featured
guest speaker, adventurer, climber,
wing-suit flyer Joby Ogwyn, and
honored a Nepalese Sherpa as
well as artist Graydon Parrish.
