FOOD | ARTS | COMMUNITY | STYLE+LEISURE HERMANN PARK It is my favorite place in Houston. Nestled nicely in the Museum District, it is an oasis within the hustle and bustle of our fair city. The recently completed Centennial Gardens and Japanese Garden expan- sion put the park in a league of its own. ENDURANCE SPORTS With 35 marathons and two IRONMAN triathlons under my belt, I’m taking on my biggest challenge to date in 2017: The IRONMAN World Championship triathlon in Kona, Hawaii. A 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and a 26.2-mile run. Back-to-back. It’s all to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. There is no better feeling than to follow your passion and help others in the process! To learn more, go to click2houston.com/teamintraining. MON CHÉRI MACARONS Houstonian Sherry Shao-To is a master at the difficult art of the macaron. Aesthetically gorgeous, melt-in-your-mouth delicate and bursting with flavor, her masterpieces are the closest competition my husband and I have found to the Laduree macarons we fell in love with years ago on our first trip to Paris. If you love macarons, you must try these! june 17 | L O C A L 65
