Open since 1962 , Antone ’ s Famous Po ’ Boys , the fastcasual sandwich restaurant known for its signature po ’ boys and Chow Chow relish , is expanding for the first time in over ten years . The eatery has two new locations in the works : A graband-go kiosk station in the food court at 5 Greenway Plaza slated to open this month and a 2,500sf full restaurant at The Shops at Ten Oaks in West Houston scheduled to open in early 2017 .
Last month the Menninger Clinic launched BridgeUp at Menninger to establish an innovative model that integrates evidence-based social and emotional learning programs into after-school initiatives to help vulnerable students succeed in school and beyond . Launching with the 2016 – 17 school year , BridgeUp at Menninger will reach 1,400 students at 28 locations throughout various Greater Houston communities , including Kashmere Gardens , Near Northside , Pasadena , Sharpstown , Spring Branch and Third Ward . BridgeUp gets our next generation talking openly and honestly about mental health , while addressing the social , emotional and mental well-being of vulnerable students whose lives have been challenged by economic , health and family hardships .

With four years firmly established at Uptown Park , Étoile Cuisine et Bar ’ s Philippe Veripiand and his wife Monica are opening Brasserie du Park in Downtown , slated to open this fall . The authentic French brasserie will be on the ground level of One Park Place overlooking Discovery Green .
