The Carole and Ronald Krist Samaritan Counseling Center along with 200 guests
with masquerade masks raised over $115,000 as they celebrated 31 years of
providing high-quality counseling to underserved and uninsured individuals and
families who otherwise are not able to afford mental health care services.
The “Be Yourself… The Unveiling” Gala had a room full of eager guests to support
mental health services. Motivated to help those affected physically and emotionally
by Hurricane Harvey along with anyone dealing with an emotional issue, attend-
ees began to open up their hearts and wallets by participating in a live auction
and silent auction that consisted of lavish packages which included jewelry, sports
memorabilia, fine dining and fashion.
Houstonians could not get enough of the snow we received that magical morning
in December – which is why MetroNational decided to bring snow to The Square
at Memorial City every Saturday of the month. Memorial City Mall showcased
the iconic Memorial City Lights (approximately 3.5 million lights) and hosted their
Jingle & Mingle, a free event where real snow covered The Square and sparked
the wish of a white Christmas in Houston. Like every year, the Memorial City
Reindeer made an appearance in the busy mall and made their way to the snow
showcase where a concert with local bands brought the night to life.

This one-of-a-kind spa to gain the most blissful experience has opened its doors in the River Oaks
neighborhood. Co-owners Juan Carlos Mazorra and Joseph Cyrus have traveled across Europe to
research flotation. At the grand opening, guests were invited to walk the VIP Blue carpet, tour the spa
and learn about the benefits of flotation therapy.
Featured in our 2016 October issue, “Two of a Kind,” these guys, who are passionate about med-
itation, seek mental stillness and expanding their consciousness, hope to recover and relax this city.
