After graduating with a degree in Hotel Management and working at the Biohotel Stanglwirt
in Austria and ski instructing for a few seasons, Sylvia Forsythe came to the US in 1988 to
work for Ski Europe to market and sell ski trips to Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy.
Nine years later, she joined the St. Regis in Houston, before opening the Hotel Derek. In
2003, she moved from the hotel industry to Saks Fifth Avenue and the rest is history....
