OF TREE I SING HOUSTON GRAND OPERA ’ S WORLD PREMIERE
Houston Grand Opera ( HGO ) continues its series of holiday operas with the world premiere presentation of The House without a Christmas Tree in the HGO Resilience Theater at the George R . Brown Convention Center . The opera is based on the uplifting story by Gail Rock and the beloved 1972 television film of the same name about a family that is healed by the holiday spirit . A precocious daughter struggles to understand her father ’ s resentment of the holidays and longs for a beautiful Christmas tree like other families have , to “ make her house look happy .” Tickets for the new venue are available at www . RICE AND ROLL HOUSTON BCYCLE ROLLS OUT NEW STATIONS AT UNIVERSITY
Houston Bike Share , City of Houston Planning & Development and Rice University have partnered together to bring bike share to the Rice University campus . In late October , Houston BCycle stations were installed at Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center , West Lot and Greenbriar Lot . Five additional stations will be added to the Rice University campus in the coming months , along with stations at the University of Houston and Texas Southern University . With so many new campus stations , Houston BCycle has rolled out Student Memberships for only $ 25 per semester . Student memberships allow unlimited access to Houston BCycle ’ s 400 bikes across 51 stations , 24 hours a day . For more information about Houston BCycle , visit www .
