YOU GO, GIRL (EMPOWERING WOMEN) - by Marzi Petris

Since being founded in 2011, Piece and Co. has been providing
employment for female artisans in over 30 countries to help end global
poverty. This spring, Nordstrom and Piece & Co. collaborated on a capsule collection that connects style with
global impact. Top brands like Alice + Olivia, Current/Elliot, DVF,
Joie, Rebecca Minkoff, Theory, The Honest Company and Tory Burch
worked closely together with Piece & Co. to
source handmade materials and fabrics from
these artisans to then incorporate into their
pieces. The collection is available now at select
Nordstrom stores and online, and one of those
select stores is in The Woodlands! Here are a
few of my favorite pieces from the collection.

Global designer and humanitarian Chan Luu scours the globe for handmade products made by
women in developing communities. On Mother’s Day weekend (May 7–9) she is
bringing these finds to J.Landa for a first-ever Chan Luu Bazaar pop-up
shop. Think colorful scarves, cool summer bags – even a selection of chic home goods. Plus
there’s a personal appearance on May 7. So stop by, load up on some goods and feel
good that not only are you helping empower women all over the world, but a portion
of the proceeds of that weekend will be donated to Dress for Success.
