TIM MOLONEY, owner of Colossus Communications, has lived in Montrose for 25 years and gives us

the lowdown on neartown.
What do you like best about living in Montrose? I like that it’s close to everything I like to do. On a
Saturday morning, I can knock out all my errands on one street or two in about an hour. And we
have great trees.
What do you think could be improved? The infrastructure. Our streets are falling apart. I’m also getting a little concerned about affordable housing for the traditional creative class. Everything’s being
mowed down for townhouses and luxury apartments. But, the land’s too valuable for anything else.
What are you most proud of regarding your neighborhood?
Weirdness and non-conformity are still welcomed. My heart soars at the sight of transvestites on Westheimer, as well as the live
action role players in Dunlavy Park.
