And the garlic shrimp flatbread with chorizo, and several other herbs and spices. My palate was having joyful new experiences. SAMPLE MENU - BITES • Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls – House rotisserie chicken tossed in a spice sauce and herbed mozzarella wrapped in a crispy spring roll $14 • Crispy Thai Shrimp – Jumbo shrimp tossed in sweet Thai chili sauce, drizzled with sweet soy glaze $18 - FLATS • Garlic Shrimp Flat Bread – Spanish chorizo, Manchego, mozzarella, cilantro pesto, red chili, roasted garlic, roasted yellow peppers with housemade tomato sauce $15 - FORAGE & DEVOUR • Crispy Red Snapper – Pan-fried Gulf red snapper with Creole black bean corn maque choux drizzled in housemade Sriracha aioli $32 • 14-oz. Grilled Double Cut Bone-in Pork Chop – Brined for 8 hours, topped with balsamic mustard reduction, served with house-baked macaroni and cheese $30 Cayenne Maple Glaze Duck Next was the award-winning Crispy Thai Shrimp. A showstopper. It’s easy to see why they took home the Best in Show, the Trailblazing Award and People’s Choice honor at the Best Bites event. Out comes the 14-ounce pork chop with mac ’n cheese. Big, beautiful, moist and magnificent. But the sauce...mmmm...a balsamic reduction, with bing cherries, reduced down, mixed with whole grain mustard. I tried another of King’s interesting takes on tradition. You’re familiar with wings and waffles? Well, this was duck, pan-seared with a cayenne maple syrup glaze. And if that wasn’t daring and delightful enough, how’s this? Wild rice and cheddar waffle. And it was wonderful, but who comes up with that? “I’m not sure where that came from,” admits King.
