April is National Child Abuse Prevention month. The Thread Alliance’s
BLUE PLATE SPECIAL takes place at participating local restaurants this
whole month to support their child abuse prevention awareness campaign encouraging Houstonians to take action against child abuse and
towards healing. Founded by
Sheila Aron, the nonprofit’s mission is to bring child abuse
awareness to the forefront and
provide a central registry of
local, state and national
resources for those seeking
child abuse prevention, intervention or treatment information
and services. Participating
restaurants include Adair
Kitchen, Café Adobe locations, Fleming’s River Oaks,
Glass Wall, Ragin’ Cajun
locations, Siphon Coffee,
Tony’s, Triniti, Vallone’s and
many more who will donate a
percentage to The Thread
