Professional Description: Serves as the commander of the criminal Investigations
division at the polk county Sheriff ’s office. oversees approximately 190 employees,
which includes the major crimes Section, Special Victims Section, crime Scene
Investigations, Identification, narcotics Investigations Section, and the Special Investigations
and analysis Section.
Experience & Qualifications: Served as a hospital corpsman in the United States navy
from february 1990 to July 1997. although giampavolo joined the navy, he spent four
years as a corpsman attached to the 2nd battalion, 3rd marines, 3rd marine division. he
was hired at the polk county Sheriff ’s office in march of 1998. he worked as a patrol
deputy, property crimes detective, homicide detective, and supervisor. giampavolo also
served as the lieutenant over the Special Victims Section, captain at the bureau of Special
Investigations, and has been in his current position since January of 2015.

Education & Training: graduate of the Southern police Institute, administrative officers
course (2012); masters of Science in criminal Justice (2009) and bachelor of arts in
criminal Justice (2007), Saint leo University; certified public manager, florida State

matters, replevin actions, first appearance hearings, and behavioral and mental health court.

Experience & Qualifications: She was elected to county court 18 years ago in 1998. prior
to green’s election, she was a prosecutor in this circuit, served the florida legislature for
several years in various staff positions (including staff attorney), and her first position aer
law school in 1987 was as staff attorney in the florida executive branch. green has legal
experience in each branch of florida government.

Community Service: She is currently working with the tenth Judicial circuit historical
Society on preservation of court history, in partnership with Southeastern University.
green has co-chaired the tenth circuit’s centennial celebrations (2009-2011); collected
oral histories of the first women, african american, and latina practitioners and pioneers
in the practice of law; coordinated professionalism presentations for several years; and
assisted in the coordination of community service work around the county.
Awards: karla foreman Wright award recognizing community service and professionalism
on and off the bench, polk county trial lawyers association (2015).
Interests: her daughter, family, tenth circuit history, and the gym.
