that’s an excuse because at the end of the day, you have a clientele to
serve and to service and a lot of these boutiques, I hate to say it, it’s
still kind of an injustice when it’s basically [they’ll] hold this dress
in front of you and say they can order it in your size,” said Yunesia.
The sisters want to change that experience and it looks like others
are beginning to catch on.
“Honestly, since we’ve opened, I’ve seen where more stores are
trying to push for curvy girls and it’s funny, I’ll go to market or I’ll
book certain events where other salons are there and it’s shocking
some of the things that they’re thinking and their perception. All
these larger girls…they come in and they want mermaids or they
want this and that. If you don’t have the right mindset, you can’t do
this in this business,” said Yukia. “Everybody has the say to wear
whatever they want and to feel beautiful in whatever they feel they
look beautiful in and the option should be there.”
Yukia and Yunesia credit their faith in God as being key in helping
create a business that serves to meet the needs of a clientele worthy
of the best treatment.
