say sensitivity is needed but yeah it is. Yeah, with any shopping
experience. There was a lack of sensitivity and helpfulness being
a plus-sized woman. Somebody should have been able to tell my
sister, even though my sister looked gorgeous in this gown, that no,
I don’t think this is going to work well for you because your bosoms
are too large,” said Yukia. “So, I think those were the … things that
were lacking: the inventory, knowledge, and the sensitivity and
customer service was lacking....”
Yukia and Yunesia’s boutique fits sizes 12 to 44 and aims to give
curvy women the ultimate designer bridal gown experience.
“A typical day here at Curvaceous Couture is just family, fun, and
I would say just figuring it out. And so curves come through our
doors and curves come in so many different sizes and shapes and
areas on our body that it’s a different experience with every bride you
know. She has her own idea of what she wants to look like on her
wedding day, the theme she’s going for … it comes down to finding
a dress that works perfectly for her curves and her confidence level.
But, everyday it’s entertaining and it’s fulfilling,” said Yunesia. “You
know, we’ll have another girl walk through this door and remind us
