Community and Faith St. Ambrose Church, Leyland Moss Lane, Leyland 01772 623426 www.stambrose.info St Ambrose Church has a large number of Dementia Friends therefore it is ensured that at every service, function or event there will be a Dementia Friend in attendance to be understanding of the needs of those living with dementia and provide any required support. Both the Church and the Halls are equipped with disabled toilets tailored with requirements for those living with dementia. Leyland United Reformed Church, Leyland Quin Street, Leyland 01772 4211322 www.leylandurc.org.uk This Church is committed to being a Dementia Friendly Church, and has a significant amount of Dementia Friends, both adults and younger people. Those living with dementia are encouraged to continue to play an active role in church life by remaining on rotas and helping out at events and fundraisers. It is ensured that everybody is respected and feels valued, with discreet support always provided from a Dementia Friend. Local Services and Organisations South Ribble Borough Council Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland 01772 625625 www.southribble.gov.uk The Council ensures that all front-line staff that deal residents on a day-to-day basis are Dementia Friends, therefore providing them with the knowledge and expertise to be supportive and understanding. Furthermore, many senior officers and elected Councillors are also trained as Dementia Friends ensuring that consideration is given to those living with dementia across all strategies, policies and plans.
