7 Tips to Gain the Confidence You Need to Find Your Perfect Fit FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR CLOSET AGAIN No matter where you are in your weight loss journey, my number one recommendation is to color coordinate your closet. Not only will you look forward to opening your closet each morning, but color coordination relieves so much stress, pressure, and time in putting outfits together. I tell all my clients, no matter what, let’s start with making these choices easier every day. ACCESSORIES ARE ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL No matter what body type, accessories always fit! A trendy purse, scarf, or shoes will brighten your day. Belts are a powerful tool to owning your new body. Adding a few accessory items to the mix is a fun way to show your personality. CELEBRATE YOUR ASSETS, DON’T MAGNIFY YOUR “FLAWS” DEFINE YOUR STYLE As your body changes you need to honestly and patiently define your style. Be observant and look around. Notice colors, styles, and people. What are you drawn to? What do you want to project to the world every day? Try not to get stuck, because a lot of these decisions evolve throughout a weight loss journey. DON’T UNDERESTIMATE YOUR UNDIES Don’t forget about undergarments! In my experience, at least 80 percent of women are wearing the wrong sized undergarments. This can add extra material, lumps, and bumps in all the wrong places. Pay attention to what you put on first—it’s the foundation of all great outfits. I challenge you to stand in front of a mirror and really see yourself. Take some time each day and look at your true self. Let’s find the things you love about your body. Look at your neck, your shoulders, your arms, your legs. Help identify what you love and dress around those. Let’s flip this way of thinking upside down. Normally, we dress to hide our so-called flaws. Now, let’s dress to celebrate our assets. Everybody has them, go find yours! TIPS JUST FOR MEN Invest in slim fit dress shirts. No need to have extra annoying bulk in your dress clothes. It’s not just about the neck and the sleeve sizing anymore. Men’s shirts include fits like classic, regular, fitted, slim, and ultra slim. Throw the classic and regular fits away. Slim or fitted dress shirts make all the difference! YOU’VE LOST WEIGHT, LET YOUR CLOTHES LOSE WEIGHT TOO Let go of the baggy clothes. Fashion is evolutionary; it changes and flows. Allow your clothing to change with you. Give yourself permission to dress your new silhouette. If you haven’t hit your goal yet, get yourself a few new pieces of clothing so you can still feel great, but not replace everything all at once.
