High School Agricultural Lab Project: An agricultural lab for the Janakalyn Secondary School in Palung, Makwanpur, is under construction. The lab is being equipped for a new vocational education program, the Junior Technical Assistance program, which teaches students about modern agricultural practices. Funding was provided for the following projects in 2017, with anticipated completion dates in 2018: Dolakha Community Center Project: A community center and cooperative meeting house in Chipchipe, Dolakha, is underway. Heated Birthing Room Project: While the existing building at the Palung Hospital expansion has a birthing room, the 15-foot ceilings, limited insulation, and lack of heating system create a cold environment that can be dangerous for newborns. A heating system for the prenatal and postnatal rooms of the hospital and a false ceiling to improve insulation is being installed. Primary Health Care Center: A health care center in the community of Rasnalu, Ramechhap, will provide immediate accessible medical care to community members who would have had to travel at least two hours, with limited public transportation options, to reach the nearest medical facility. This health care center will benefit at least 3,000 families, or 15,000 individuals. Somaliland Hospital Project: A large hospital complex is being built to provide access to medical care for the Sanaag Region of Somaliland (primary frankincense harvesting area). ƒ Drought Relief Project: To support those in Somaliland affected by the terrible drought in 2017, funding was provided to prepare and distribute emergency food supplies to the hardest hit dōTERRA Cō-Impact Sourcing® areas. Primary Health Care Center Expansion: A health care center in the community of Palung, Makwanpur, Nepal will provide health care services to 100,000 individuals. 18 dōTERRA HEALING HANDS FOUNDATION I ANNUAL REPORT 2017 doterra.com 19
