...E NON SAREI L’UOMO CHE SONO OGGI
SENZA LA DONNA CHE HA ACCETTATO
DI SPOSARMI VENT’ANNI FA...
“E non sarei l’uomo che sono oggi senza la donna che ha accettato
di sposarmi vent’anni fa. Devo dirlo pubblicamente, Michelle, ti
amo davvero, sono molto orgoglioso, e anche il resto dell’America
si è innamorato di te.”
Queste sono state le parole del discorso post elezione di Barack
Obama che hanno emozionato le donne di tutto il mondo. Chi
non avrebbe voluto essere al posto della First Lady e sentire il
proprio uomo fare una tale dichiarazione d’amore davanti a mi-
lioni di persone? Michelle ha fatto in modo che tutte, in qualche
modo, oltre a sognarlo, sentissero di assomigliarle un po’. E, so-
prattutto, che la maggior parte di loro votassero Obama per vo-
tare anche lei. Negli USA si dice che Obama non sarebbe
diventato “Obama” senza avere al suo fianco l’avvocato Michelle
LaVaughn Robinson, nata a Chicago nel 1964 e madre delle sue
due figlie. Una grande donna all’ombra (ma non troppo) di un
grande Presidente: dal 2007, in-fatti, Michelle ha fatto comizi elet-
torali per la campagna presidenziale del marito in varie località
degli Stati Uniti, impiegando uno staff tutto femminile di assistenti
per il suo ruolo politico. Un ruolo che è sicuramente cambiato
nel corso del tempo, a partire dal suo abbigliamento, sempre più
“low cost” e alla portata di tutti, al fine di alleggerire la percezione
che si aveva di lei. Un ruoloche è sicuramente cambiato nel corso
del tempo, ma mai passato “fuori moda”. Ancora oggi, nonostante
la fine del mandato presidenziale di Obama avvenuto ad inizio
2017, Michelle continua ad influenzare ed a ispirare il popolo ame-
ricano e non, attraverso i suoi discorsi a favore dei diritti delle
donne, della lotta contro la sedentarietà e del ruolo chiave che ha
l’educazione per la crescita dei cittadini di oggi. Ma non è tutto!
Michelle Obama, attualmente, è una delle principali promotrici della
campagna di sensibilizzazione “When we all vote”, attuata per in-
centivare il popolo americano ad andare a votare alle prossime ele-

zioni di metà mandato che si terranno a novembre 2018.
“I wouldn’t be the man I am today, without the woman accepted
to get married me twenty years ago. I must publicly say Michelle
I really love you and I am very proud of you, also the rest of
America is in love with you”.
These words of Barack Obama’s post- election speech thrilled
women from all the world. Who would not have wanted to be
in place of the First Lady and listen her partner doing such a de-
claration of love in front of millions of people?
Michelle has done so that every woman in a certain way dreamt
it and felt to resemble a little to her. And above all in order to
the biggest part of them voted Obama, giving their vote also to
her. In the USA it’s said that Obama would not have been
“Obama” without having by his side the lawyer Michelle La-
Vaughn Robinson, she was born in Chicago in 1964 and mother
of his two children. She is a good woman in the shadow (but not
too much) of a great President: from 2007 indeed Michelle has
made electoral meetings for his husband’s presidential campaign
in many places of United States, with a staff composed of all fe-
male assistants for her politic role. Her role has definitely chan-
ged during the time, starting from her outfit increasingly “low
cost” and available to anyone, in order to relieve the perception
about her. Her role has definitely changed during the time, but
never “out of fashion”.
Even now, even though the end of the Obama presidential term
at the beginning of 2017, Michelle continues to influence and in-
spire Americans and world populations, through its speeches
about women’s rights, health and education for the growth of
modern citizens.
But that’s not all! Michelle Obama now is one of the prime mover
of the “When we all vote” campaign, for encouraging Americans
to register their vote in the next midterm elections wich would

take place next November 2018.
