ENHANCING lives Supporting you through training and employment At Optivo we’re dedicated to enhancing lives through training and employment. That’s why we have a dedicated employment team offering one-to-one support, advice and guidance for all our residents. Paul was snapped up by Debenhams after he impressed them with voluntary work we’d secured him at a Shelter charity shop. Chris landed a role with Marks and Spencer after we got him a month of voluntary work in one of their stores. We can provide you with opportunities to find a job, as well as training and the chance to learn new skills. Our advisors will help you put together a CV, prepare for interviews, write job applications and much more. Paul said: “At my job interview the store management said my commitment to volunteering work had got me into the chair.” Chris added: “This whole experience has got me towards a place where I am much happier.” Father and son, Paul and Chris Ebbles, (above) both found work after signing up to our Volunteering into Work programme, which involves boosting skills through training and work experience through volunteer placements. When Selina Singh struggled to get back into work after a break we helped her to boost her skills through training, which got her into a new customer services role. She said: “I was a bit here, there and everywhere. I didn’t know what job would be best for me or what channels to go through. Optivo helped me with interview training and worked on my CV. I did training courses and workshops that really helped me gain lots of confidence.” She said: “It gave me the confidence to go ahead and apply for jobs that I would not have usually gone for. It also helped me with the whole application process - from writing supporting statements to my CV - which can be really difficult.” 6
