How Do I Say This
I don ’ t want you to look at me and think you need to tell me I ’ m beautiful to make me feel better
I want you to look at me and admire the way I think
The way I ’ ll randomly ask you the questions that come to my mind at 4 am when I ’ ve drank too much coffee , and watched too much tv , or I ’ ve thought about in math class when I was supposed to be paying attention to the lecture
Look at me like I ’ m a galaxy of ideas , of never ending questions and unexplainable thoughts
I want you to look at me and realize that my mind and heart are more appealing than my skin
Though I want you to look at me and ask yourself how someone like myself even exist , I don ’ t want it to occur only as you watch my hair blow in the wind or as your eyes catch the sight of myself on a Saturday night on my way to a party
I want me to be your unanswered question You don ’ t understand me but that ’ s ok
I just need you to understand that when you call me beautiful , you ’ re talking about my mind , not my flesh , because I want you to love the part of me that will never age , that way you ’ ll never stop loving me .
