Is My Story
Let me introduce myself.
I am from Venezuela. I am 31 years old,
and I have one sister and one brother. I
have a daughter who is four years old in
this country. My job is babysitting and
housekeeping. I like to read but I don’t
like to cook.
I am an immigrant and this is my sto-
ry. I came to the US six months ago. I
come for a better life. The food short-
ages and medical basics are hard to find
in Venezuela. My daughter did not have
the proper immunization for her age.
Now, I am in the United States, I have
many goals and dreams. The job I want
is preschool teacher. In 5 years, I want
my own business. In 10 years, my hope
is to be stable in a country and for my
daughter to be in high school.
This is my story. This is who I am.
