DIANE BOYOM NURSE AIDE TRAINING GIVING UP EVERYTHING FOR A NEW DEPARTURE: MY AMERICAN DREAM I came from Cameroon in Central Africa one year ago where I was a medical doctor for 2 years. I grew up in an amazing family at a modest level in society. My parents taught me many good life values that I try to keep in mind and apply. Since childhood, it has always been my passion to save lives and smile at other people. I was a good citizen, coworker, doctor, and relative. Even if I seem blessed and accomplished, in the bottom of my heart, I had always known that I had not achieved my biggest dream of becoming a medical doctor in the USA. I came to the USA 46 with a basic level of English, especially in speaking. Immediately after I got off the plane, I realized the distance between my dream and its acheivement was too long. How would it be possible for me to easily adapt in this big country with such cultural, educational, economic and political diversity? How would it be possible for me to enroll for a college degree with a doctorate degree in French? Many questions came to mind. I was afraid and started to think I made the wrong choice and would it stay a dream in my mind the rest of my life? Thank God I never gave up. Fortunately, I found Carlos Rosario and my life started to change. I gradually improved my English speaking, writing, listening and reading. Because of the amazing mix of people, I got the chance to discover the whole world in a small period of time. I got a lot of advice about immi- gration status and health insurance. The amazing staff administrators and teachers helped me find my way. I want to win a scholarship from Carlos Rosario to enroll in a college degree as soon as possible.
