Push and Pull Factors of Immigration

Over the years people have moved from place to place around the world . Sometimes they leave because the conditions at home are bad . Sometimes they leave because they hope for a better place in another country . These are called the push pull factors of immigration . by Leticia Machado
There have been many reasons that have pushed immigrants to leave their countries . In the past people left their countries because of war and religious persecution . Some came because they were afraid for their lives . These days people leave their countries because the economy is bad . In addition , they need better financial opportunities . Some came because they are alone . Their entire family is here ( USA ) and they need to be with their family again . In my case for example I left El Salvador because I needed to reunite with my husband and because I was looking for a better opportunity .
There have also been many pull factors that attract people to particular countries . Actually some people left their countries because they needed better opportunities . Some immigrate to the United States because in their own country they don ’ t have free lives , work opportunities , freedom of religion and security . For these reasons many people decide to emigrate from one country to another country with better opportunities . In addition , people need free lives and improved living conditions . For example , my friend came to the United States for personal security and she is like many more people who are fleeing a violent country .
In conclusion , there will always be factors that push people out of their homeland and cause them to seek a new home . Moving from place to place is a common event for individuals , families and sometimes whole communities .
