Special Visitor Carlos Rosario School welcomes Ambassador Mari Carmen Aponte On February 11th leaders from the Salvadoran and Puerto Rican communities celebrated the return of Ambassador Aponte after five years of service in El Salvador. As part of the celebrations, Carlos Rosario graduate Johana Campos gave her a painting featuring Salvadoran symbols. “I made this very special for Ambassador Mari Carmen Aponte because she inspires me a lot…Every Salvadoran recognizes these symbols. It's la flor de izote, the national flower of El Salvador; the national bird of El Salvador, torogoz, and in El Salvador we can see volcanoes.” In Our Own Words 2016 61
