ESL 3 thru 5 Black History Month Essay Contest My Dream By Dina Machado Portillo, ESL 5 1st Place I have a dream, as do each of us to come to this country. We fought “all working” to help our family at our side. Our hearts are divided for this situation. They want to cut our inspiration to continue flying and exploring. We are here to work honestly. We did not come to steal anyone’s dreams. We just want to fight for our dreams. My dream is that in every country we are seen as brothers and put aside selfishness. My Dream For The Ivory Coast By Fosty Kely Diomande, ESL 3 2nd Place My name is Fostykely, and I am from Abidjan [Ivory Coast]. My dream for my country is peace for every Ivorian. We do not want more war. It is my dream because we suffer, and there are a lot of people who are dead. I am going to teach the Ivorians, to make my dream possible for the best future for our children. My Dream for United States and Mexico By Juan Bruno Avila, ESL 3 3rd Place My name is Juan B. Avila, and I am from Puebla-Mexico. My dream for this country is to gain social equality opportunities, and the one easy process to citizenship because when the people have the same opportunities for steady work, they change your economic and social life. Many people come for different reasons but we must have a better process for citizenship and fast because the people will grow up and strengthen the economy in this country. My dream for Mexico is stop the corruption and make university education accessible. To stop the corruption the people in society must be honest and I think when the education is excellent the country progresses. 56 In Our Own Words 2016
