I HAVE A
BETTER LIFE IN
WASHINGTON, DC
THAN BEFORE
F
irst, when I lived in El Salvador, I never lived
with my own family. But since I came to the
United States, I have been living with my
beautiful family.

Second, since I came to the United States I have
been working hard because I have responsibility to pay the rent and many other things that I
will explain. Like, when Christmas came, before
I didn’t have responsibility because I depended
on my mom for that.
Third, in El Salvador I never wore a jacket or
sweater as it is hot, or cap because it is always
hot in winter. But since I came to the United
States for winter season, I always wear a heavy
coat, snow boots, gloves and a cap.
Fourth, after I came in this country, I have been
living in my apartment and used air conditioning
for summer and heat for winter. In my country I
didn’t use the air conditioning and heat too.
Finally, before I came to the US, I was able to
play basketball with my friends. I had a team
there. It was fun. Now, I am always thinking
about my jobs, my kids, and my school.
In conclusion, my life changed completely.
